"Preserving the history of the parish of Sleat on the Isle of Skye"
Drumfearn Druim Fhearna (alder ridge)
Several of the families who had been cleared from Borreraig and Suishnish in Strath in 1852 were resettled here. They were only the latest of several families to be resettled in Drumfearn. In the 1780s John MacInnes was moved to Drumfearn from Letterfurra. In the 1820s at least two families moved here when Kilbride was cleared to make way for a glebe for the minister of Strath.
The local school was the smallest in the parish but consistently had good inspection results.
